Boosting face to face book sales

A few people in the Chapter Book Challenge group have asked me to share some tips on getting book sales. I thought this would be a good place to start.

I have been ordering print copies of Teapot Tales: a collection of unique fairy tales and have a box of Jingle Bells: tales of holiday spirit from around the World on it’s way to me. For Teapot Tales, I’ve had to order three times!

Very sleepy…

If you read my post yesterday, you may have figured out that the words just aren’t coming at the moment. This probably has a lot to do with the fact that I’m just really tired. Don’t get daunted by a monthly challenge

As well as the Write NonFiction in November challenge, there are many others, such as NaNoWriMo and the Chapter Book Challenge. Not all challenges are in November. Different challenges have different requirements such as word counts or goals, but the aim for all of these is to get us writing.

Friday Five – Character Names

Choosing character names

I find naming my characters a challenge. There are some days I wonder how my kids were named! Here are five ways I find names for characters in the stories I write:

  1. Name just comes to me – there are occasions when a name just comes to me, even before the plot of the story. When this happens, it’s fantastic as it means I don’t need to search for a name for that character. Unfortunately, this isn’t as common as I would like it to be. [Read more…]
