Be interviewed on YouTube

YouTube InterviewsI’m in the process of planning the launch of my next book, as well as about to start the Chapter Book Challenge, so the next few marketing ideas will be ones I am booking in ready for launch in May.

One thing I’ve just booked is to be interviewed on the Nat Cubes YouTube channel. Quite apart from the fact he’s my son and he inspired the book, it’s also a channel that reaches a lot of people who are in to cubing, and it’s steadily growing. He is also active in the cubing community, so it’s a great way to reach potential readers who would like to read a book about a kid who solves the Rubik’s cube.

We’re both quite excited about the interview, it’s a first for both of us. For me as it’ll be my first video interview about my book, and the first interview he has put on his channel.

To get an interview, find channels that relate to the topic of your book and see if they produce interviews. If they don’t, it doesn’t hurt to contact them and ask about an interview, it may be something they haven’t thought of doing before, or they may be able to put you in contact with another YouTuber who may be happy to interview you.

Work together on a time to do the interview. If you’re not in the same location, you could film the interview with Google Hangouts, Skype, or a similar program.

When the interview has been published, be sure to promote it through your channels and, if possible, embed it in your website or blog along with links for your followers to follow the YouTuber who has interviewed you.
