Happy New Year – 2016

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone! Can you believe it’s 2016 already? I can’t. Last year went by so quickly, though if you ask my nearly 14 year old, it went too slowly!

Last year, I got quite a bit of writing done, even if I didn’t get much published other than an ebook for authors. I did get a lot of editing done and aim to publish two more Green Oaks Primary School books this year.

There are a lot of things I would love to do this year, but if last year taught me anything, it’s that life happens when we make plans, and sometimes it’s best to just go with the flow.

One thing I do want to do is read more books. I have found that this gives me ideas for my own writing as well as teaches me a lot about story structure, characterisation, and setting that I can then apply to my writing. In light of this, I’m going to attempt the Popsugar 2016 Reading Challenge. I have put a list up on my blog here so you can follow my progress. You never know, you may discover some new books in the process too.

On the writing front, I plan to take part in the Chapter Book Challenge once again. I have a few ideas that I want to work on this year, I have a couple of months to decide which one to work on. I also want to finish the first draft of my grown-up novel, and write a couple more ebooks.

For publishing, we have two chapter books planned for launch in the first half of the year. If anything else gets published, we’ll just have to wait and see.

Whatever happens, I’m looking forward to seeing what 2016 brings.
