Blog Post #25 – Write a letter from your character

Write a letter from your characters to your readers

Welcome to the blog post prompt for this week. If you’re blogging along this week, or coming back another time to join in, please add your link in the comments so we can check out your blog too. If you add a link, please visit one or two of the other links and add a comment.

For a fun post, write a letter to your readers – from one of your characters.

This can be a great way to introduce your characters to your readers, and use your characters to talk about an incident in your book, or even where they are relaxing while waiting for the book to come out.

If you are writing a series that already has a following, this could be a way to introduce a new character, or put in some information about a twist in the story of a character your readers already love.

Choose one of your characters – it could be a major or minor character, or even your villain – and choose a point in time to focus on and write a letter. Be sure to stay in character as you write the letter, and invite your readers to respond with a comment or even a letter of their own.

If you are using this prompt on your blog, add your link in the comments. I look forward to reading letters from your characters.
