Blog Post #2 – Interview yourself

Interview yourself

Welcome to the blog post prompt for this week. If you’re blogging along this week, or coming back another time to join in, please add your link in the comments so we can check out your blog too. If you add a link, please visit one or two of the other links and add a comment.

One of the easiest ways to create a blog post is in a question and answer format. This week, interview yourself about something.

Choose one aspect of your writing. It could be a particular book, a character, a setting, something about your writing process, even a few ‘silly’ questions, like your favourite sandwich filling. Just remember to choose something that will connect with your readers.

Write five or six questions on this topic and then answer them on your blog. Keep the answers short, a simple paragraph should be enough. Where possible, treat this as though you’re having a chat with your readers, so keep it simple and informal, and keep with the topic you’ve chosen.

For a fun twist, you could get one of your characters to interview you! If you do this, be sure to have the introduction and questions true to the character you’ve created.

This is one sort of blog post that can be done more than once as you can interview yourself on a number of different topics. A word of warning, don’t do this too often or you may find you run out of questions!

If you are using this prompt on your blog, add your link in the comments. I look forward to reading your interviews. If you have some suggstions for questions authors can ask themselves or topics they can interview themselves about, add them in the comments too.
