Prompt #1 – Tell us about your blog

How long have I been blogging?

It’s day 1 of the Author Blog Challenge. Today’s prompt is:

Tell us about your blog. How long have you been blogging? Do you write on a regular schedule? Do you plan your topics in advance or write as the spirit moves you? What was your favorite post? At which post do you look back and wonder what you were thinking when you wrote it? What has been the best feedback you’ve ever received? Have you ever written anything that was perceived as controversial, though you didn’t intend it that way? What tips would you offer other author bloggers?

I have been blogging since 2007, though the only posts that are still on a blog are from 2008. I have a number of different blogs, and some have posts and topics I plan in advance, and others I don’t. On this blog, I tend to add posts as inspiration hits.

I don’t think I have a favourite post. There are so many different posts that I enjoy. With one of my blogs, I’m turning the posts into a book, and there are some posts there that I wonder why I wrote that post – those ones are not making the cut for the book.

Best feedback – I think it’s been on some of the writing exercises I’ve done. People have commented on how much they enjoyed my writing, along with some constructive comments on how I can improve the piece.

Nothing I’ve written has been perceived as controversial. Maybe I’m a boring blogger!

The biggest tip I would give to other author bloggers is to blog about topics that interest you and that you are passionate about. This way you will be able to keep it up.
