The business of being an author

Back in June, as part of the Author Blog Challenge, there was a prompt about the business of being a writer. You can read my post here.

The more I have been looking at publishing lately, the more I realise that whether or not an author self publishes, there is still work an author needs to do to build a platform, promote their books, and manage the business side of being an author.

While I haven’t had a book published (yet), I did run a business for nearly 9 years…

Prompted by the post in the Author Blog Challenge, I thought I’d do some posts with business tips for authors. This could be anything from some marketing ideas as well as tips for things like using a virtual assistant to help with the administration of books and speaking engagements.

If you’re interested in this idea, please let me know, as well as give me some ideas of what you would like to know about. This way I can write on topics that will be both interesting and useful.
