Achievements in 2011

What I achieved in 2011

Following on from yesterday’s post about goals, the other question I’ve seen posted a lot is asking people to reflect on their achievements in 2011.

So, I thought I’d look at what I had achieved in 2011.

There have been many days when it feels like I have achieved nothing at all, but looking back, it has been a big year.

One of the biggest achievements for me is simply that I’ve been writing again. This is something I wanted to do when I was younger, and I was really good at it, winning a number of awards. Unfortunately, life got in the way and writing fiction fell by the wayside.

In 2011, I have got back into it, first with the Accidental WAHM stories, then with the snippets I’ve been posting here. I’ve rediscovered the joy of writing and the dream of being a published author has resurfaced from where it was buried. I discovered it never really went away.

Basically, on the writing front, while there are some days when I feel I’m getting nowhere with my writing, in reality, I’ve come a long way since the start of 2011. I’m looking forward to 2012.

  1. What an awesome achievement and goal to have Melissa! Connecting with our dreams is so important.

I have really discovered I like writing too. I think of it as blogging and connecting, but I actually enjoy the writing too and wish sometimes that I could just do it without kidlets hanging off me and I could spend the time getting it right.

Good luck with your 2012 goals!

    And thanks for linking up!

    • Thanks Lee ๐Ÿ™‚ I also wish that I had more time for writing, but the holidays are actually making things easier!! My kids are 8 and 9 (nearly 10) and are able to play by themselves most of the time. It’s great.

  2. Good luck with your writing in the new year! I’m so glad you’ve rekindled the passion for it.
